Have you thought of getting involved in High School athletics but didn’t know how? Become a member of the San Diego County Track Starters Association! We offer professional training, mentoring and support. First-Year members are given special instruction in the classroom and on the track which will help them to become a Certified Starter.
You’ll attend classes with other First-Year members to learn the rules and procedures for starting and officiating a high school track meet. You will also receive hands-on training at a clinic which coincides with a high school pre-season meet. This clinic is taught by Certified Starters with years of experience.
You will work at least two regular high school meets with an experienced Certified Starter where you will have the opportunity to start races and learn the finer points of Track Starting with a one-on-one tutor. Based on your performance and desire, you may begin to officiate meets by yourself as the season progresses.
If this sounds interesting or you would like more information, please click on our ‘Contacts’ link or submit the form at right. OR fill out the form above and a member will contact you within 48 hours. Remember, real joy is not in receiving but in giving. Give back to your community and become a Track Starter today!
